Boatright leads swim team to state
As we head into November the swim season is starting up. Leading the team this year is Conner Boatright. With hopes of winning conference along with making a run at state, the atmosphere surrounding swim is better than ever.
“I am really excited for this season and hope to improve my times in my races Boatright said, “Our team is looking forward to competing this year”
While excitement for the new season fosters, Boatright has made the decision to attend Missouri to be a division 1 student athlete. This decision shapes the next four years of his life.
“It just felt like the right decision for me,” said Boatright “With all my family and friends supporting me I felt like I knew what was next for me. And that was Missouri.”
The recruitment process brought some stress with it but none that couldn’t be handled by Boatright. Coach Whitten sees him as a leader for swim this year. Boatright is a very important piece to the team, for them to be working on all cylinders.
“Conner has developed so much as a swimmer,” Whitten said “but not only has he developed in that aspect, he has developed as a leader and teammate too. I think that is why Missouri really liked him.”
His teammates also are excited to have Boatright on the team. Noah Sullivan, another male swimmer, spoke highly of his teammate. Building each other up was the name of the game.
“He has been a really good friend to me and everyone on the team,” Sullivan said “He brings out the best in people with his competitiveness and determination. I am super happy for him and his commitment ”
