“We came out slow at first, but we pulled it together and ended with an enormous lead,” said junior guard Ashley Gray.
Har-Ber (3-0) may have started slow, not scoring the first minute and half of the game, but the remainder of the game, they went on a scoring spree to remember.
After scoring 26 unanswered points, Pea Ridge (3-3) settled in and kept at the 30 deficit mark most of the night.
With senior leaders, Caroline Eubanks and Jessica Olsen, on the bench most of the night, other key players kept the beat going.
“It was fun just sitting back and watching all of us play,” said Olsen. “Everyone’s hard work paid off.”
Olsen did not record a point on this night (Nov. 29), but points were also not hard to come by. Ten different Lady Wildcats entered the scoring column. Eubanks led Har-Ber with 13 points, followed by Gray and sophomore Marleeya Montgomery, who each had eight.
“Our offense took a little while to develop, but our defense was great,” said Olsen. “We left them scoreless in the first and that’s a good accomplishment no matter who we play.”
Har-Ber 57, Pea Ridge 27.
The Lady Wildcats headed Dec. 2 to Willard, Mo. for a four-day tournament. Conference play will begin after the holiday break.
