Coming out against the Lady Bulldogs, Har-Ber looked strong in the early going staying within two at the end of the first quarter against a now (18-2, 4-1) Fayetteville team.
The Lady Wildcats then took a 15-14 lead off of a junior Krista Murr three point basket. After that it was off and running for the Lady Bulldogs, as they stormed off to a 19-3 run to seal the half and make it 33-18.
“We started to relax a little too much and Fayetteville made us pay for it,” said junior point guard Jessica Olson.
The second half was more closely contested, as Fayetteville only held a two point advantage for the half, but was too little, too late after a shaky second quarter.
“It’s just one of those games where you take it and learn from your mistakes,” said Olson.
Despite all else, senior forward Maggie Gartner finished with 12 points, and seven boards to tandem with junior forward Summer Morgan who also had seven boards and six points inside.
The Lady Wildcats continue in conference play on Jan. 28 on the road against the Rogers Heritage War Eagles where Har-Ber hopes to get back on track towards the top of the conference.
