Bursting out of the gate strong, the Lady Wildcats pushed an 18-6 lead on the visiting Springdale Lady Bulldogs at Wildcat Arena Feb. 8 to begin the game in the first quarter.
Throughout the game, the pressure was held on the Lady Bulldogs as the Lady Wildcats used their strong start to pace the rest of the night coasting to a 52-36 victory.
“It is always a rough and controversial game, but I think we proved we were the better team,” said junior point guard Jessica Olsen.
Junior Caroline Eubanks recorded a double-double (13 points, 11 rebounds) and junior Summer Morgan added 14 points of her own.
Points in the paint were the story of the night as Har-Ber dominated inside with its core-three, and outscored Springdale 28-4 in it.
Four days later the Lady Wildcats were at it again in Fort Smith versus the Southside Lady Rebels.
Remaining close the entire game, Har-Ber fell short 60-54 in a tough road loss.
Despite a losing effort, Eubanks had an astounding 28 points and 7 rebounds. Senior Maggie Gartner added 8 points and 7 rebounds as well.
“I think we played hard and did well, but they were just hitting their shots, and in the end we fell short. We had to end up fouling them,” said sophomore guard Caylee Wright.
