Tuesday, Jan. 8: I dread the sound of my alarm that I’m hearing for the first time in weeks. Already I have a terrible mindset that this semester is going to be dreadful.
As a senior I feel the pain most of my fellow classmates feel immediately after Christmas vacation. Just walking into the school we get a bad vibe that we can’t seem to shake all quarter.
The holidays are over for at least a few months and there is no conceivable end in sight. This quarter is where many seniors meet their downfall. The overwhelming feeling of senioritis (pure laziness) and personal anguish cause us to slack on our work. Then, as the quarter comes to an end we are forced to work our butts off trying to pass with a reasonable grade in our worst subjects.
The overall lack of mental stimulation over the break has forced our brains to kick it into overdrive. Similar to what happens after not working out for a long time then jumping back into it all of the sudden, our brains are going to become sore from use.
It’s going to be hard, but we need to just suck it up and drive on. There isn’t much time left, and we have come this far. Finish strong. We can do it!
