Relaxed and in his own world junior Ricardo Ramirez is doing what he loves best, spray paint art. He started drawing in fifth grade with the help of his father and eventually worked his way up to painting with brushes. Using spray paint to create his art began two years ago.
“It’s something I’m good at and I’ve done a while. I like creating my own images,” said Ramirez.
Ramirez discovered his talent for art when he put pictures on Facebook and a lot of people liked them. From then on people started requesting paintings and Ramirez started selling them. Now Ramirez has sold ten paintings and keeps getting requests.
“I like to paint space paintings or landscapes. They’re my favorite,” said Ramirez.
Ramirez is mostly asked to paint landscapes or stencils (a stencil is a piece of work that is cut out of a board and then painted). He has only painted people twice, a picture of Marilyn Monroe and another lady.
His inspiration and encouragement comes from his dad.
“My dad is proud of me, he pushes be to get better, and he’s the reason I’m so good,” said Ramirez.
Ramirez’s father has been giving his son tips and ways to improve since his son started drawing six years ago. Ramirez learned to draw from his father at a young age but pursued spray paint art because he liked it more.
“It’s my passion. It’s something I really like to do,” said Ramirez.
Ramirez aspires to become a great artist and continue to sell his art to people. Currently he is selling a small painting for $60 and a bigger size for $150. This is his passion and goal, and he dreams of success in this field.
“I want this to be my career. It’s what I love to do,” he said.
