Senior Alexus Beltrami nervously checks the mail each day after school hoping for that one special letter that will set her on track for the rest of her life.
On April 11, Beltrami took her Certified Nurse’s Assistant at The Schmeiding Center in Springdale. This certification will allow her to move on and become a Registered Nurse.
“I was so nervous and my heart was beating so fast. My test was on skills that I do everyday,” said Beltrami.
Beltrami is a part of the JAG program and leaves everyday to go to work where she got experience that helped her on her CNA exam.
“I have a job right now at a home health service, but I’m going to college for my RN,” said Beltrami.
Beltrami plans to attend Northwest Arkansas Community college to get her RN and then plans to continue on in the medical field.
“I want to work in an OB/GYN office and be in delivery,” said Beltrami.
There are many pros that come along with having her CNA.
“Having my CNA only adds to my goal because now I have medical background. I will also have a good job through college,” said Beltrami.
Participating in this will provide a secure job in the future, but it also provides an added bonus for Beltrami.
“I love that it’s such a rewarding job and every night I can go home knowing that I did something to change someone’s life,” said Beltrami.
