The squeaking sounds and wiggling whiskers of tested mice fill the AP biology room. Students designed experiments to test either a mouse or fish.
Junior Emily Rainey built a maze for her cracker crazy creature and everything was fine and dandy until another classmate asked for her help.
It all started with the decision to wear a lovely long sleeved jacket with flowly open sleeves. Up until her AP biology class that was a fine choice. She handled her mouse well, taking it from the larger cage to her maze with only a small bite as a memory.
She tried to stop her mouse from going over the walls instead of through it in its search for crackers. She finished and put her mouse up when suddenly she heard her name.
“Emily, will you help me please?” asked another student.
Rainey went up to see what she could do and her classmate asked her to put his mice up. Rainey didn’t mind and reached down to pick up the first. Frightened, the mouse used the only escape it saw and ran up her sleeve.
Squeaking like a mouse herself, Rainey shuddered as the mouse tickled her arm as it ran up her arm. Three others came running to assist.
Finally they took off Rainey’s jacket and pulled the terrified mouse from her shoulder. Laughing the class went back to work, and the other mouse was caught up and put back in its cage.
“Of course this would happen to me. I’m the one that thinks mice are awesome, and I’m the one that has a mouse bite me AND run up my sleeve,” said Rainey laughing at the memory.
