Over the past few summers, snow cone stands have started to appear all over NWA. If you’re wondering which one you should give your summer money to, read these quick bios over each snow cone stand!
Shave the Planet: With two locations in Springdale, Shave the Planet offers tons of flavors at a minimum price of two dollars for a small. These snow cone stands are green and can be found in the parking lot of Harps on Backus Street and behind Jose’s near I-540. Shave the Planet has a diverse menu of flavors ranging from Silver Fox to strawberry to Tiger’s Blood and much more. My personal favorite combination is Planet Earth, which mixes blue raspberry and kiwi! For just a little more money, Shave the Planet will add vanilla ice cream to your snow cone.
Tropical Sno: If you’re wanting to get away for a little vacation feel, Tropical Sno is the place for you! Their snow cone is made of just that, SNOW! Tropical Sno stands are usually blue and white and look kind of like a tiki hut. Their flavors range from papaya to cheesecake to honeydew melon and more. Tropical Sno also offers their Tropical Sno cream topping perfect for strawberries and cream or a root beer float flavor.
Frozen Tung: With a metallic-looking stand, Frozen Tung offers flavors like mojito, margarita, wedding cake, and more. A specialty this snow cone stand offers is energy boosts. For extra money, Frozen Tung will add a shot of Red Bull, Monster, or 5 Hour Energy to any Frozen Tung flavor. This energy boost costs $3.75 while a regular snow cone costs $2.50. Frozen Tung also offers toppings such as cream topping, cayenne pepper, and sour spray.
