“Grab a drink, dancing under flashing lights. She’s a queen, but she won’t put up a fight. Everybody knows that she’s a looker, but she ain’t quite right, so I lie through my teeth again,” purred Stephen Jerzak in his first purely electro-pop, non-acoustic single “She Said,” featuring Leighton Meester.
After its release in July 2010, Jerzak is finally releasing the first song off of his upcoming electro/acoustic-pop album, “Miles and Miles,” that is to be released on June 14.
With a slow and sweet acoustic strumming, Jerzak’s voice purrs out the start of “Heart,” the first track from his upcoming album. The song is the perfect blend of electro-pop beats for dancing mixed with Jerzak’s signature hippie-esque acoustics. Despite the classic Jerzak acoustics, Stephen’s sound has definitely changed from his first album, “The Sky High,” which was mainly acoustic and not as electronically doctored in the recording studio.
The song’s lyrics are quite cute and flirty, which is definitely a signature move in the style of Stephen Jerzak. “Feeling like we’re on a roller coaster with our love, I’ve got her eyes revealing what I’m makin’ her feeling; a couple drinks and she thinks she’s got ahold of my heart,” boasts Jerzak in “Heart.” The way the acoustics and beats compliment his voice give the boastful lyrics about a party-born romance a beautiful hint of fun flirtation.
The peppy chorus is definitely something to dance to, even though the girl in the song is being played the pretty-boy Jerzak. The new “Miles and Miles” album will be full of fun party-style acoustic-electro-pop songs to dance to, and will definitely be released on June 14th. For now, the peppy and phenomenal single is avaliable for free download at soundcloud.com/stephenjerzak/heart.
The upcoming and much-anticipated album will Jerzak’s first full-length LP debut. He has already performed many of the songs from the album on 2010’s Peace Out Tour, many performances of which are avaliable on YouTube. One can surely expect new songs like “Next Level,” “Peace Out,” and “Heart” to be performed at Van’s Warped Tour 2011, which Jerzak will be touring on as well.
For the next dance party or angry venting breakup session, definitely download “Heart” by Stephen Jerzak while it’s still free!
