People crowded into the Union Ballroom at the University of Arkansas Feb. 28 to see the guys from the hit MTV show, “The Buried Life.”
Duncan Penn, Ben Nemtin, Dave Lingwood and Jonnie Penn are the creative minds behind the show that asks “What do you want to do before you die?” The purpose of their show is to watch as the boys attempt to complete a list of “100 Things To Do Before You Die” and encourage others to do the things on their own list. Some of the items include playing basketball with the President or asking Taylor Swift out on a date.
“The Buried Life” guys traveled all the way to the U of A to talk about their journey in creating “The Buried Life” and what it means to them. The boys shared their own personal stories and what lead them to start their incredible task.
“They really are like they show on TV, said senior Megan Dodson. “[They’re] funny and awkward and very real people.”
Throughout the night the guys told unbelievable stories of the people they had met along their journey and the things they’ve done to inspire people.
“They’re four ordinary hotties who don’t take no for an answer, and follow all of their life dreams no matter what,” said senior Miranda Harrison. “They inspire me to follow my dream of becoming a famous pop singer someday.”
“The Buried Life” shares their inspiring story to the world and have made a difference in many lives.
“It’s encouraging to see ordinary people have faith and put a lot of hope into doing something that seems impssible and make it possible,” said senior Jordan Blakely. “It makes me feel like I could accomplish any of my dreams and the only one standing in the way of not accomplishing it is myself.”
The boys left the audience with quote from Into the Wild that touched their hearts. “Happiness is not real unless shared.”
