To ring in the new year Paramore announced that founding members Josh and Zac Farro have decided to leave the band. The brothers told their band members months before Paramore released a statement on the band’s website.
In the statement, the band said, “None of us were really shocked. For the last year it hasn’t seemed as if they wanted to be around anymore.”
It may have not been a real shock to the band, but the announcement threw fans for a loop. Since the announcement, fans have been posting comments on their thoughts of the brothers departure. The majority of the fans plead for the brothers to return.
Frontwoman Hayley Williams, rhythm guitarist Taylor York, and bassist Jeremy Davis assure fans that they are not going anywhere. They went so far as to posting a video of Williams and York writing a new song, “In the Mourning”.
The song is very catchy. It brings in a whole new aspect to the band. It shows how much the three have matured and moved forward from all of the hardships they have faced. The new song and the talk of the new album in works shows that the three are ready to move forward and began a new journey.
In light of the Farro brothers’ departure, Paramore is just getting started. They’ve just announced their first South American tour. They’ve won Favorite Rock Band at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards.
Williams, York and Davis will carry the band to do so much more. Paramore has a bright future ahead of them and Josh and Zac are crazy to let it all go.
